MythBusters is a television program produced by Beyond International (www.beyond.com.au ) of Australia and, in the United States, broadcast by The Discovery Channel (www.discovery.com).

The program, hosted by Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage (aka “The MythBusters”) uses scientific technique to investigate urban legends or commonly held beliefs to get at ‘the truth’. They not only try to get at the truth of the legend but they also try to replicate the outcomes. As such, they find their engineering, special effects and prop-building skills challenged to come up with unique ways to manifest the results of a myth.

Since its original pilot episodes, The MythBusters have grown to include Kari Byron, Tory Bellici and Grant Imahara. Seasons One and Two also included MythTern Christine Chamberlain, “Mistress of Metal” Scottie Chapman and Resident Folklorist Dr. Heather Joseph-Witham. The program is rounded out by Rob Lee who narrates the program in the United States.
